It is the National and National Candidate referee's responsibility to complete all of the requirements utilizing the GameOfficials website as outlined in the document referenced above.
During the July 30, 2009 Colorado Referee Committee (CJRC) meeting, a motion requiring Grade 7 referees to successfully complete a maintenance assessment for recertification was unanimously passed. You are still required to complete your Clinic, Written Test and Fitness Test by December 31 to satisfy your Registration requirements for your registration.
Effective with the 2013 registration, the assessment, along with the fitness test, written test and attendance at a recertification clinic, will need to be completed before you are approved for Grade 7 status. After attending an ARTS or Super Saturday recertification clinic, passing the written exam and completing the maintenance assessment, you will be recertified for the registration year. You will have until December 31 to pass the maintenance assessment for your registration. If you fail to do so, you will be downgraded to Grade 8 status for the registration year. The assessment fee is $55.00. Please complete the Request for Assessment to schedule your Assessment once you have completed your fitness test, paid your assessment fee and attended a recertification clinic.

If you have missed one or more years of registering, see the USSF Referee Program Policy on Lapsed Referee Registrations.
If you are an AYSO Referee who wants to register with
the United States Soccer Federation, you must fill out both the
Soccer Federation Registration Form and the
Certification Form. Download, print out, and complete
both forms. Both forms must be sent to the State Referee
Administrator (SRA) along with the $40.00 registration
fee. See the Contact page
for the SRA mailing address.
Cross-certification is available to referees of AYSO and USSF who have been certified as referees for six months or more and who are not certified with both organizations. AYSO and USSF games may be applied toward the certification requirements of either AYSO or USSF.
